Bek Simmons is a scientist-turned-entrepreneur. With a PhD from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from the Open University, she has a track record in scaling high-performance organisations. As COO of Riverlane, Bek is responsible for building world-class teams and scaling operations to enable the company to reach its strategic goals. She enjoys supporting and empowering high-performing teams and has a supreme talent for driving work to completion.

Maria Maragkou is an engineer turned scientist turned business leader. She has a PhD from Southampton University on solid state experimental physics and an MBA from Kedge Business School on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. As VP of Product and Partnerships at Riverlane, Maria leads the Product and Business Development teams and is responsible for setting and delivering the company’s commercial strategy. She is passionate about translating scientific innovations into real products that can change the world and enjoys finding ways to navigate the uncertainty of deep tech ecosystems.

Ophelia Crawford is a Staff Quantum Scientist at Riverlane, leading one of its technical teams. She joined the company nearly six years ago as one of the first female employees. Since then, she has worked on a number of aspects of quantum computing theory, as well as being heavily involved in recruitment and outreach. Before working at Riverlane, Ophelia completed a PhD in Geophysics at the University of Cambridge.

Nicole Gillet is a Software Engineer at Riverlane. She completed her MSci in Physics and University College London and worked as a Software Engineer across a variety of industries, before moving into quantum at the end of 2023. She is passionate about promoting women in technology through communities such as, GirlCode, Women Who Go and Women of Silicon Roundabout.
