Hello! Let me share a bit about myself ☺️
I'm Rouaa Belhaj Ali, a software developer and master's research student from Tunisia.
I work on freelance projects, conduct research for my thesis, and I have a deep passion for coding.
Whats your background?
I have a background in technical coding skills, which has been a driving force in my career.
I've dedicated myself to mastering programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java.
Through practical experience, continuous learning, and several freelancing projects, I have honed my expertise in full-stack web development.
Whats your current role?
Currently, I'm preparing for my master thesis project, which focuses on smart irrigation systems.
This project combines my passion for both IoT devices and programming to bring significant benefits to the agriculture sector. I'm excited about leveraging cutting-edge technologies to develop efficient and automated irrigation systems that optimize water usage, improve crop yields, and minimize environmental impact.
I believe that integrating IoT sensors, data analytics, and programming algorithms can revolutionize traditional farming methods. I'm enthusiastic about the potential impact this project can have on sustainable agriculture practices. Through my master's thesis, I aim to contribute to the development of smart and environmentally friendly solutions for the agricultural industry.
I'm eager to continue expanding my knowledge, collaborating with experts in the field, and making a meaningful difference through technology-driven innovations."
Why have you decided to learn to code?
During my inaugural year of college, I acquired fundamental coding skills.
Do you think its important to learn to code?
I believe coding is a vital skill that fosters improved thinking and problem-solving abilities. Although it may seem overwhelming at first, immersing oneself in coding gradually leads to a fulfilling experience.
Even troubleshooting and overcoming bugs present valuable challenges, with resolving them providing a sense of accomplishment.
I strongly recommend that everyone should embark on the journey of learning to code.
Do you feel the tech industry is male dominated? How can we encourage more women into the industry?
Indeed, I share the belief that men currently dominate the tech industry, which is precisely why I aspire to contribute to Girl Code as an ambassador!
I hope that i will be able to introduce new perspectives and initiatives that can enrich the organization's mission and empower more women to thrive in the field of technology.
Did you struggle being a woman in the tech industry yourself?
While I wouldn't say I struggled significantly, I did encounter some challenges when I first started seeking opportunities as a young, beginner-level girl.
I noticed that some individuals underestimated me due to my age and initial shyness.
It became apparent that certain people tended to prefer relying on men rather than considering my capabilities.
Whats the most rewarding and most challenging parts of your tech career so far?
The most challenging part of my tech career has been navigating through complex and ever-evolving technologies.
Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements can be demanding, requiring continuous learning and adaptation.
Additionally, tackling intricate technical problems and finding efficient solutions can be intellectually challenging.
However, these challenges have also provided me a valuable learning experiences and have contributed to my growth as a tech .
